Lectures
Marc has given numerous lectures on insurance law, including: "Birth
of an Insurance Claim--The Trigger of Coverage and the Tender of
a Claim to the Insurer," at the annual meeting of the ABA in 1995,
and speeches regarding insurance coverage for construction defects
litigation for Mealey's Insurance Coverage Seminar 1996 and 1997.
He also spoke at the Mealey's Insurance Coverage Seminar in 1998
on issues regarding allocation. In July 1998, he presented the CEB
program entitled "Identifying and Using Insurance Coverage in Business
Litigation" in San Jose, San Francisco and Costa Mesa, California.
Mr. Maister also spoke at and Co-Chaired Mealey's Construction Defect:
Litigation and Coverage Conference on December 3-4, 1998 in Santa
Monica, California. Mr. Maister was a speaker at the March 4-5,
1999 Institute for Corporate Counsel seminar.
He will be speaking at a year 2000 insurance seminar for Mealey's
Publications in July 1999. In addition, he has lectured for the
past two years in Insurance Law at the UCLA School of Law. His article,
"Trigger of Coverage: A Contract Approach," was published in the
American Bar Association's Summer 1995 issue.
