Mr. Meer’s practice
focuses on litigation and client counseling in the areas of wrongful
discharge, sexual harassment, employment discrimination, labor arbitration,
employee benefits litigation and employee relations.
Client Representation:
As a litigator,
Mr. Meer has represented a large mix of employers in a variety of
industries, including motion picture studios, entertainment and
music companies, automobile manufacturing companies, temporary staffing
and employee leasing organizations, consumer products distributors,
banks, and investment banking and financial services firms. He has
obtained judgments for employers in state and federal courts and
won appellate cases before the California Court of Appeals, the
California Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th
Circuit.
As a counselor,
Mr. Meer has helped numerous clients avoid extensive litigation
through the use of arbitration programs, effective employee handbooks
and human resources policies, as well as through mediation and other
alternative dispute resolution techniques.

Speaker:
Mr.
Meer is a contributing columnist to the ABA press and the California
Labor Letter. He
is a contributing author to Sexual Harassment in Employment Law,
B. Lindemann & D. Kodue, Eds. (BNA 1992).
He is a frequent
lecturer and featured speaker on labor and employment litigation
issues before the National Employment Law Institute, The Employers
Group, The Employer Advisory Council and The Professionals in Human
Resources Association. Mr. Meer is an instructor in continuing legal
education accredited by the State Bar of California, and has taught
a course entitled “Winning Summary Judgment in Employment Litigation,”
and is a guest lecturer at the Graduate School of Business of California
State University.
Education:
Mr.
Meer received his B.A. with honors in 1986 from Cornell University,
School of Industrial & Labor Relations, where he was a member of
Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Eta Sigma, and his J.D. with honors from Boston
University in 1989.

Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and
is a member of the California Bar.
