Mr. Herman
has represented a wide variety of employers in virtually every
kind of employment and labor law matter, including union organizing
and negotiations, and proceedings before the National Labor
Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission,
the United States Department of Labor, the Occupational Safety
and Health Agency, and corresponding state agencies. He has
extensive experience dealing with all forms of labor disputes,
including boycotts and corporate campaigns. Mr. Herman also
has handled a broad variety of class and individual litigation
matters in both state and federal courts involving wrongful
dismissal, employment discrimination, sexual harassment and
employee benefits and constitutional issues. He has represented
a number of the largest farming companies in the country in
agricultural labor law matters.

Mr. Herman
has published numerous articles in publications such as law
reviews (e.g. the University of Virginia Law Review);
specialty publications (e.g. The Labor Lawyer); conference
proceedings (e g. The NYU Institute on Labor and The Southwestern
Labor Law Conference); CEB Books (e.g. Advising California
Employers); and major newspapers (eg. The New York Times
and Los Angeles Times). He won the Legal Writing Contest
sponsored by the Chicago Bar Association two years in a row.
He has
taught courses in labor and employment law and negotiating
at the Harvard Business School, Northwestern Law School, the
UCLA Institute on Industrial Relations, the Practicing Law
Institute and has participated as a speaker in many industry
and legal programs. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in
America.
