Mr. Hurley is
a nationally recognized expert on disability law. He has been actively
defending disabled discrimination suits for over eleven years. He
has advised the American Institute of Architects, the Building Owners
and Managers Association, the Irvine Company’s Industrial, Retail,
Residential, and Office Divisions, Leo A. Daly, Gensler & Associates,
Pacific Life, the County of Orange, and the City of Newport Beach,
the City of San Diego, the City of Riverside, the National Association
of Theater Owners, and the California Restaurant Association on
the requirements of the FEHA, the FHA, and the ADA, as well as state
laws and regulations.
He has litigated
lawsuits for the County of Orange, the City of Newport Beach, the
City of Riverside, Paramount Group, and Nielsen Dillingham involving
hundreds of millions of dollars.

He has represented
dozens of property owners/operators including El Torito Restaurants,
Carrows Restaurants, Restaurant Enterprises Group, The Historic
Mission Inn, Builders Emporium, Home Depot, AMC Theaters, Gran Theaters,
Pacific Theaters, West Coast Realty Investors, The San Diego Padres
& Chargers, and the City of Riverside in lawsuits and claims
relating to disabled access. He is currently defending over a dozen
lawsuits alleging discrimination under state & federal disabled
access laws.
Mr. Hurley is
actively involved in working with the owners and operators of stadiums
nationwide in defending access claims, negotiating with the Untied
States Department of Justice, and in preparing new regulations and
guidelines for disabled accessibility. He is also lead trial counsel
defending the United States Department of Justice lawsuit against
AMC theaters.
